About

Kylie Ligertwood (she/her) is an Australian artist, writer and creative producer. She was born in Perth (Whadjuk country) in 1976 and lives in Melbourne (Naarm).

Working across a broad range of media including sound, installation, video, sculpture, illustration, painting and word, the production of various community-focussed projects operates in parallel.

Kylie is interested in connections. Her works attempt to reveal, or at the very least, suggest, connections that are otherwise hidden, unclear and/or unexpected.

Education in both art and science are key informants. Kylie studied visual arts at Edith Cowan University, graduating in 2005 with the Head of School prize. Prior to formal studies in art, Kylie completed a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) with Honours at Curtin University in 1997, and has also trained in professional writing and editing, conflict resolution, mediation and counselling.
